One skirt, many styles

And so they challenged me! Read about the story behind the challenge in the previous post.

The objective was to come out with as many styles as I could think off with one skirt within 30mins. I may select up to 5 items to aid with my challenge but the focus of each style has to be the skirt.

These are the items used in the competition.

1. Red and white polka dot silk skirt with attached sash
2. Black belt.
3. Black corset top.
4. Black knee high boots.
5. Black earings.

Conclusion: I convinced my two friends who were giggling and yielding before the timer hit 30mins! I managed about 17 to 20 approaches in the time frame though most styles would have looked nicer had I more accessories to play with.

We had a fun time and I am also a little surprised at the results. All the photographs were snapped only once cause of the running timer so if you see me in odd poses please disregard!

On reflection, I suppose I lost a great deal of my innovative juices by being able to afford so many clothes! I miss my teens where I modified my outfits all the time!

The Story Behind The Challenge

While talking to Shane and Diane the other day we got into a forthcoming discussion. They felt that money to buy gorgeous clothes would make any lass attractive. I undeniably concur that having the means to buy beautiful clothes and make up goes a long way in making any ugly duckling pretty. Or else most of us wouldn’t be ogling at celebrities in their red carpet wear!

But the one point at which we differ was that Shane and Diane felt that common folks like us without the access to a multitude of designer wears and expanding closet space can never hope to catch up on the swift tempo of fashion, not to mention creating our own.

They also allege that it is hard for some one like me that spend a considerable portion of my disposable earnings on clothes to understand how difficult it is for them to work with a small collection.

I beg to differ as I too, am familiar with living from hand to mouth principally during my younger days. I couldn’t afford much and every choice I made had to be versatile so that I could re-wear over and over again without being feeling jaded!

I believed that even without the means if we were willing to think out of the box we can still give a lot of stylish mileage to the clothes we already own. And that the love of fashion is an attitude, not a compliance to society’s demands or the need to have bags of cash. It’s the celebrity’s stylist that we need to take our hats off for.

Thus leading to the challenge.

MAC Intense FOTD

Recently… popped down to the mac counter to collect some merchandises during lunch and the MA tried on some colors from the intense pallet… to difficult to blend as i only have limited skills and experience so i didn’t get it!

Louis 1st Photoshoot!

Yes I admit to over loving my little bugger.. and for treating him more like my kid then my dog… but I can’t help it when he’s so beautiful in my eyes… I love him even when he’s naughty!

Brought him for a photo shoot and he looks so pretty in the pics! Of course cookies had to employed as bribes!

That night I also met Siew Kam for dinner… it’s been quite awhile since we last met and she’s looking good! Love this gal! She always so chirpy… brightens up my day!
