Once again, my very active sister and her bf is participating in Cosfest. This year it’s held very near my place at Downtown East so I decide to brave the scorching sun with my two babies to lend my support! (Since I was only 5mins from home please pardon my wake up messy look!)

Janice went as an injured dark angel from some new anime (sorry I forgot the name!) and Shannon went as Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I really admire their creativity and efforts in designing their own costume. Shannon’s handmade sword and shoes were pretty good! They even got interviewed by MTV. ( The camera man is a really nice dude but the host in black is super dao! Maybe he really thinks he’s a hotshot star… lol )

It’s no surprise that Shannon and Janice usually gather huge crowds of photographers snapping pictures of them wildly! But this year my two babies became mini stars of their own too! Getting OOhs and Ahhs and friendly dog lovers cuddling them!

So many people requested pictures of Louis and Emmie that soon they became Janice’s and Shannon’s photo shoot props. I must say it was a resounding success!

As for me, I was designated stage master of the day. And my job was to make sure the props listened to commands and stay in their positions… lol…

It wasn’t exactly all work and no play for the 2 darlings. They had a good drink when they were thirsty and even met some new friends.

After a couple of hours, even I needed rest so I headed to the nearby Ben’s and Jerry’s for my favorite ice cream Sunday. By the time I finished Louis and Emmie were sound asleep. So it was time to head home!

Once they were home and out of the sun they were back to their usual active nature. I even caught Louis cuddling his sister =) So sweet!

Penang - City of Yummies!

As promised, this is the part 2 of my trip. Warning! This post is gonna be a picture intensive!

We headed down to Ipoh but due to circumstances I couldn’t eat the famous Curry Mee that Aik Chung recommended. I must remember to try that the next time. I did, however, eat the famous Ipoh “Na Choi Gai” or otherwise known as Bean Sprouts Chicken with Hor Fun (flat bean noodles) and it’s a taste worth traveling for!

One of the places I visited in Penang other than Gurney Drive is their Guan Yin Temple.

Look at all the turtles!

The temple is on the top of a hill and very nicely designed. They are still in the midst of construction of the huge guan yin statue. You have to take a glass elevator up!

Some pictures of Darmi and me!

There were the statues of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs in the garden so we all went to take pictures next to our own sign.

Darmi’s born in the year of the pig!

He really looks like a tiger right?

Aik Chung the big rat!

And I’m a rooster! I’m talkative and I peck at my food but I guess I haven’t inherited the rooster’s good morning, rise and shine attitude yet… =)

Up the pagoda we go!

Other then food and temple and food again… Penang was good for their beaches and water sports! Wish I could have done more though! For Aik Chung getting his DVD’s were the main reason for going Penang. ( To AC: Thanks for being a good brother and bringing me to all the yummy spots! The next time you come visit I’ll show you around and I wanna watch prison break! *hint* )

My Foodie Trip!

All my post are out dated but as they say… better late then never!

Not too long ago I went for a 2 weeks trip from Singapore all the way up north and experienced all the yummy food our country’s neighbor had to offer. In that short span I actually gained 3kg! So if you want to gain weight just eat 6-7 meals a day for 2 weeks… results guaranteed!

I didn’t take pics of all the food I ate but here are just a few to share with you all!

Yummy durians for supper!!

The yong dao fu in KL is huge!

Famous Penang Char Kweh Tiao from the “Sister’s Stall”.

Mee Java =)

Otar! Very different from the singapore grilled version. This is steamed!

Other than just food, I did meet up some friends for a hiking trip. We took the rubber tapper’s route up and the biker trails down. It was really fun to do something healthy especially knowing I’ll be going on a food fest. The only gripe I had was the millions of mosquitoes everywhere! I was their main target for some unknown reason and I’m sure they enjoyed having me as their morning buffet. I definately must remember to bring a mosquitoe patch or some repellent the next time!

Sexy ALVIN trying to do his hair commercial pose!

At the end of the hike the nicest reward was a yummy glass of soya bean drink! In Malaysia they have the choice of normal white sugar syrup or brown sugar or gula melaka syrup for your soya bean drink. It could be novelty but I really preferred the taste of the brown sugar soya bean drink!

Next on the schedule is Tim Sum breakfast with good company no less!

At the Tim Sum Place, one of the workers was wearing a polo tee with the words ” Happy Karen Day” at the back! I was so tempted to ask if I could take a picture but in the end cowardly me decided to give it a miss.

Next post on Penang!

Had a nice yam cha session with Celeste, Mendy and DeeDee at this Japanese restaurant. Too bad I had a very filling meal just before meeting them. Otherwise I could try out some of the delicious looking desserts!

It was really nice meeting up with the girls again even if it was just for tea. Next time we’ll plan something else yah? Dr X is really cute and will definitely grow up to be a heart-breaker! A little on the cheeky side but I guess all handsome looking little boys are. He wanted to follow me home! Maybe next time sweetie!

Carlsberg and Mentos

We all know what happens when you put Mentos in Diet Coke, but what about Carlsberg beer? An interesting experiment…
