I’m not sure if you still remember blogging about N.E.mation and how I had so much fun at a stop-motion workshop. Well, that was just the basics of stop motion. Using the same principles, there are so many creative ways of creating stop motion videos and I was at the back stage scene of the 10 finalist teams of the N.E.mation! 6 competition.

It was a total eye-opener. The area were divided into tents and each tent had a team working really hard to bring their ideas to life. The students were remarkably hard working, coming in very early in the morning to start work and staying till the wee hours. They were doing what professionals out there are doing except with a lot more passion and at a much younger age. It was a very motivational experience for me to see how hard they strive to win.

Harnessing their different talents, the used different mediums for their stop motion productions. Clay, water color, paper cut outs, drawing with gyroscopes and more! Every single movement has to be absolutely detailed! It’s honestly enough to drive some people insane!

But these students did what most adults have never been able to do in their lifetime and they did it with so much commitment and professionalism; it was simply impressive. I just walked through tent after tent with my eyes wide with wonder and my jaw dropping to the ground.

And finally I’m glad to announce that their work is complete! You can visit http://nemation.sg to view their full videos and participating in choosing the top 3 videos. It’s gonna be a tough choice to make cause I think they are all really good!

I think that their home grown talent should be appreciated and commended and I would vote even if there were no incentives. But N.E.mation! is really kind to reward voters with the chance of winning a prize as well. So here are the prizes that you might win should you vote for your top 3 videos.

On a completely unrelated note, here’s what I wore the day I headed down to the back scenes of the stop motion process to cheer the teams on. It’s was straight after work so I was a little washed out.

Look at the photos and it’s obvious that the dress is very aptly named. The Nicole Embroidery Swing dress is one of the newest dresses sent to me from Faire Belle. It’s just been launched on their website today so if you are interested in this and more, do visit www.fairebelle.com! I love vibrant colors and online shopping is a great way to get last minute Chinese New Year clothes if you are too lazy to head down to town and jostle with the crowd after work.

I was about to meet a girl friend for dinner and I love how simple and easy this dress is. I just threw it on and tied a pony tail. The belt comes with the dress but you can always change it for your own belt as well.

If you want a more sophisticated dress for  your Chinese New Year, check out Faire Belle‘s Monique Dress. Another classic cut that has a oomph factor.

And for fans of the convertible dress, Faire Belle also has their version of the dress.

I believe that it’s quite popular as a bride’s maid dress.

I never really had a favorite color. I love all colors of the rainbow so it all boils down to my mood of the day. Like the title indicates, this purple Willamson Flounce Dunner Dress from Faire Belle brought out a cool, calm and in control vibe. The first thing that caught my attention with this dress is the absolute softness of the fabric. Quality chiffon that’s so smooth to the touch in this Matthew Willamson inspired dress.

This is one of those dresses where photos does not do it enough justice. It’s so very dreamy in real life and perfect for a day out in the parks or a casual first date. There’s just something intangibly romantic when I come across outfits in pastel hues.

This weekend like most weekends in the month of December are filled with all sorts of celebrations. Weddings, baby showers, birthdays and more! I’m finding it a little tough even finding time to do Christmas shopping especially with the scary crowds in Orchard Road. I want each gift to my friends to be special and well picked out for them but having the luxury of time to do just that has been a wee bit challenging. I’ve got less then a week to do my shopping, wrapping, tidying up for my christmas party and working on my christmas dinner menu. But as always, I will try to dedicate time to blogging as well.

I hope my readers are doing a much better job than me managing the festive season. And if you are still hunting for gifts or the perfect dress to wear, give this one a go. It’s such a steal for the quality and the cut. While I love this dress in the pastal purple, if subtle colors are not your cup of tea, check out the teal version.

All the colors are available on http://www.fairebelle.com so check them out. I believe it’ll be launched tonight on their site!

This pink Talyor Dimante Bustier Dress from Faire Belle really reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Audrey Hepburn:

“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.”

Sometimes (myself included) we take life a little too seriously and we allow our work to creep into our constantly hectic lifestyle. While I’m all for equality of opportunities between men and women; and I know how much feminist women have struggled to win the battle of the sexes through the ages, I still believe that it’s good to sometimes, sit back and enjoy the frivolities of being a girl.

Women of the 50s had a keen sense of fashion and deportment with their quality constructed outfits, hats, gloves and boxy clutches. They were out of the office by 5 pm (since no one in those era expected a women to solve corporate problems) and spent the rest of their evening with their love ones and maintaining their perfectly manicured nails and coiffed hair.

When did the women of today stop learning to feel good about themselves and strive to be the superwomen they’ve  tasked themselves to transform into. Every day it’s a struggle to do more then men just to gain the same respect while being buried in constant stress and wasting days ticking off items to do on their check list for their work and their family . So while I  admit that I too do get caught up in the rat race to excel in all aspects of my life, I always take a slot of time every week to be a girl. To be pampered, to spend time with love ones, to wear beautiful dresses and to cultivate my inner peace.

So here I am on a Sunday in this gorgeous dress with pleated details and diamond crystal studs all along the bust line feeling blessed to have such wonderful weather, taking my outfit shots to share with my readers after a lovely Sunday brunch date with Audrey.

Now, more about my outfit since this was supposed to have been an outfit post. I was surprised at the vivid color of the pink when I saw the photos! I think this color absolutely stands out in photos and would be great for those intending to take on a trip so that you’ll pop up beautifully in travel pictures. The first photo of this post was color edited as I wanted to post up the outfit look on  lookbook and enstyle but I left the rest of the pictures unedited so you can see how vibrant the pink is.

The cut  of my  dress is simple but the dress functions well for both day and night events in this coming festive season. Self-manufactured by Faire Belle,  the material quality is great and there won’t be too many out there with the same dress.

It comes in quite a few colors and I think the purple version is also rather striking for those who think pink is way too girly for your spunky personality.

The dress will only launch on the Faire Belle site,

http://www.fairebelle.com

at 9pm on 15th December 2011 (TONIGHT!!!)

So don’t miss out to grab it :)

I was invited to attend the Longines Singapore Gold Cup at the Turf Club this year together with some other bloggers. Regina got selected during the online best dressed contest by the Turf Club so I was really happy to have her there as well!

His Excellency Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, Longines Vice-President and Head of International Marketing Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, Aaron Kwok were also there to grace the event. It’s a pity we didn’t manage to get the meet and greet session with Aaron Kwok because of the rain.

Despite the rain, we had our own share of fun mingling and chatting while deciding which horses to bet on. Everyone was all dressed up for the event and we participated in the Longines best dressed and the winner walked away with a Longines watch!

We had to do a little cat walk followed by a short dance performance and everyone was so game! Actress and host Rebecca Tan told me she loved my dress and voted for me which was so sweet of her! Other than Jessie, William, Nira, HP and Smith, whom I’ve met previously on similar turf club events, I made several new friends that day which is always nice.

The Singapore Gold Cup Day has traditionally been designated as an annual Charity Race Day. Since Longines took on the title sponsorship last year, Longines has continued to dedicate this event towards charity.

The highlight of the event definately goes to the Longines Gold Cup race wher Ronnie Stewart on El Dorado took home the gold! He wasn’t one of the hot favourites but he exceeded everyone’s expectaions.

I think Turf Club has been doing a great job of organising such events with glitz and glamour and I hope that one day racing and race fashion will be as happening as it is in Australia.

Here’s one last look at the outfit I put together for that day.
