New Start

Thanks to everyone for being so patient with me and for offering all sorts of help when my computers and their backups all died in a power surge recently.

The good news is that I got a brand new computer up and running. It took me quite awhile to get all my basic installations and I’m still sorting out all my stuff but at least I have a computer! The bad news is that while I did manage to retrieve some of my important memories and data, some were still lost. It has been a really costly experience and I’m still feeling the pinch from everything. Give me awhile to sort out my photos and I’ll be back blogging in a blink of an eye.

Basic requirements ::

Minimum 5 “O” Level passes
1 year of retail sales experience preferred
Possess a love for nail colors
Honest, diligent & pleasant personality
Able to converse well in both English and mandarin
Well-versed in basic Microsoft Office skills
Experience in POS-systems is preferred

Roles & Responsibilities ::

Opening and closing of retail shop
Working hours – 11am to 8pm (may differ, depending on retail location)
6 days work week
Attend to walk-in customers and recommend products tailoring to their needs
Basic maintenance of cleanliness of the shop & arranging of products in an orderly fashion
Stock take and inventory management
Packing & Mailing of online orders
Daily reporting for sales and cashflow
Management of client profiles in CRM system

What they can offer ::

Monthly gross salary between S$1,200 to S$1,500 – fully dependent on qualifications
CPF
& a paradise of lacquer colors for you to work in

Some of my regular readers emailed me to ask why I haven’t updated my blog the last couple of days as they have been getting used to a daily post. Well, I’ve just got back to Singapore to find that my computer died on me with tons of data, photos and memories wiped out. It’s excruciating to be so absolutely helpless about the whole situation. I would have to take a couple of days to try and retrieve whatever that’s left of my corrupted hard disks so I won’t be blogging these few days. Other than working hard to retrieve and do manual backups, I’ll also be looking into buying a new computer to replace this one.

By the way, since we are on this topic, did you know that professional data retrieval services are crazily expensive? I was quoted $700 to $900 just for a portion of my data!!! They said that you can’t put a price on memories but I think they just did.

Anyhow, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed and working really hard to do all I can and hopefully be blogging again soon.

Hello from around the world

I’m dropping a quick hello to my readers. I know that there hasn’t been any new posts in the last week due to some error in my scheduling.

I’m currently writing this aboard a Baltic cruise ship from Finland to Sweden which is the only time I have to really been online in the last couple of days. It’s been a cold but really fun trip with so many countries and so many new exciting adventures. It’ll be a couple of weeks more before I make my rounds back to Singapore.

Would love to write more but I can see Stockholm in the distance and will be disembarking soon. I’ll update the blog whenever I can.

By the time you read this post, I’ve already made my way out of sunny little Singapore and won’t be back till 5 weeks later. I’ve scheduled posts to be updated on my blog so while I’m away, my blog is working on clockwork. Replies may be slow but eventually I’ll get to them!

It’s gonna be quite a whirlwind 5 weeks as I hope from country to country and I hope that when I’m back I would have gained even more in experiences.

And I’m not sure if you noticed yet but Renzze.com has changed it’s banner to reflect the festive mood! I hope you are all having fun and looking forward to Christmas and New Year! I was supposed to have a white Christmas in Paris this year but the crazy freezing temperatures have forced me to change my plans. Instead I’ll be spending it in Singapore with my dearest family and friends.

I’ve been receiving lots of emails about various topics recently but I have to remind my dear readers that I’m away down under and would not be able to attend to each and every email. In fact at the moment my priority goes to work emails and those from close friends or family. I’m sure you understand right? And when I do have any spare time would I look through emails or approve comments in moderation.

I’m spending time with one of my bestie and it’s been great even though the weather is 7C on a sunny afternoon here. We have breakfast and watch DVDs in bed while we catch up on all the events we’ve missed in each other’s life. She’s my oldest friend and this year probably marks our 23rd year as friends. So even though we are usually continents apart, somehow our friendship survived it all.

I’ve quite a number of friends scattered around all over the different states so I’ll do a little state hopping to meet them. But meanwhile, my Japan trip photos will still be churning up on my blog as they were scheduled.

Regular readers of my blog would know the drill, I’m away which means emails and comments reply would take longer but I will get to them eventually. Meanwhile I’ll try to keep the blog updated even though I’m not around.

I’m heading of to a beach resort on a sudden impromptu trip with girlfriends… at this point I kinda regret saying yes but the ticket’s been bought so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the trip will be worth it.

They were taken indoors and outdoors respectively when my camera was all fogged up by the morning cold mist and turned out pretty nice with a redish and bluish tones.
