Had quite a eventful Christmas Day in 2009 with about 3 different parties in the evening. The last one I attended was at Debbie’s place late into the night. I got there only close to midnight!

It was a cozy party with yummy kueh pie ti and booze. I got around chatting with some familiar faces and a couple of new ones and even tried my hand at Wii.

Zoe was so exhausted after being hyper around everyone! I didn’t bring Louis and Emmie to visit this time round cause they were busy entertaining my guests at home.

We got around discussing about cameras cause I was taking photos with my Canon DSLR. A number of them were into lomo cameras so I got to try them out as well. Here’s Priscilla’s gorgeous chrome camera that I had fun fiddling while she played with my DSLR.

I really loved Debbie and her mum’s self-decorated tree! It was really well done and she had real presents hanging on the tree as gifts for the guests to pick!

And here’s the outfit I wore to all the different parties on Christmas Day 2009.

ClubCouture unveiled their Secrets of Soho collection recently and there are so many gorgeous outfits! The pale pink lace panel dress worn by the model above has a unique asymmetrical hemline that would easily take you from day to night.

This collection has got me wanting to visit NYC all over again! I’m so in love with the pale A-line dress on the right of the above picture but it was snapped up so quickly after the collection was released! The black bodycon toga on the left would make a great party or clubbing outfit.

But I might settle for the nude top worn by the model on the top left photo. It looks like something I could wear to work and then pair it with berms for the weekends. The model on the right looks really comfy and stylish at the same time. Wearing the boyfriend cardigan over the gold simmering satin dress blends casual with chic in one outfit.

Either way, Secrets of Soho has got my wanderlust active again and I might plan a trip to NYC end of this year or maybe next year. I miss the sights and sounds of that beautiful city and the very stylish people.

Until I am back wandering the streets of NY, I’ll let my lust be directed at ClubCouture’s Soho inspired collection. I believe the collection will be a hit so I better start shopping before it’s all gone! Fastest fingers first!

Awhile back, ClubCouture sent each of their ambassadors 2 plain tank tops. One white and one black. The challenge was simple enough – to incorporate the simple item with our usual twist of style. You may view everyone’s version at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=22705&id=120133224663937&ref=mf and just ‘like’  the photo to vote.

Psst, as a bonus, look out for the contest information at the end of this post :)

Here’s Renzze’s variation.

FOR THE BLACK CLUBCOUTURE TANK TOP

Click here to “like” this look. You need to like the ClubCouture page first :)

For a simple dress down summer feel I paired the black tank with a military green skirt and a basic floppy sun hat. A very comfortable and simple outfit that was fantastic for taking my 2 dogs for a day out at the beach.

This tank top and skirt combi over a bikini is one of my go to looks for beach holidays where I want to be able to be presentable enough for sightseeing and yet be comfortable on the beach. I wore a similar combination once in Bali and having a long maxi meant I was able to enter places of worship as well.

But a tank top is one of the easiest most basic item we can have in our wardrobe and so many looks can be achieved with it.

FOR THE WHITE CLUBCOUTURE TANK TOP

Click here to “like” this look. You need to like the ClubCouture page first :)

This girly look is also very much a part of my personal style. I simply love frills and pretty skirts. I paired the white ClubCouture tank top with a flare skirt and a cropped cardi for a preppy flapper girl look.

Perfect for tea with my dearest girl friends. The socks also gave my Dior cage heels a different feel for it’s usual formal interpretation. The simple white tank brought together all the elements.

And now it’s contest time!!!

ClubCouture has recently moved to a new fan page on facebook at http://facebook.clubcouture.cc

You may visit the ClubCouture facebook fan page to see all the different ambassdors’ interpretation of the basic tank and vote for your favourite one!

Voting starts today! So click here to vote.

Remember to LIKE the ClubCouture facebook fan page first!

The ambassador with the most total “likes” on their photo will win $100 worth of Takashimaya vouchers. And one randomly selected fan who voted for the winning blogger will win a set of the camis and S$50 worth of ClubCouture vouchers.

How wonderful! Do spread the word around and I hope you enjoy viewing the different photos! Voting will end 20th May!

One of the more frequent questions posed to me through my blog and email is usually about travel. How cold do I think Australia will be in May or Paris in January. What sort of clothings should I wear and if there are any alternatives to jeans.

The thing is, the weather these days don’t follow a schedule anymore. I’m not sure if you have taken notice but winter arrives early and lasts all through with spring barely arriving. Even in an equatorial country like Singapore, it’s hot and sunny at the weirdest months and there isn’t a distinct monsoon season anymore… the rain can fall for days with no apparent rhyme or season.

And so to my friends and readers that are travelling overseas, it is important to know the art of layering.

I travel quite a bit and on very tight schedules. So I usually have to pack my suitcases with only a vague idea of the real temperatures of the places I’m visiting. It may state 17C on the weather report but with strong winds, it may feel like 7C in the night especially to a Singaporean that is not used to cold temperatures. And with most airlines, you get a 20KG bag allowance which means you can’t pack for summer through winter. But if you know how to layer, you can.

So in this post, I will show you how to layer and dress up for your holidays. I’ll be using some items from one of my favorite brands ClubCouture.

The most common and easiest way to create a layered outfit for travelling is to start with a pair of jeans or leggings and a sweater top. Then add more layers. If you are a pants and top kinda girl, go for it! I think the Faith Knit Sweater from ClubCouture would be a nice place to start.

But for this post, I’m going to layer with my basic piece being a dress. I’ve had a many readers asking me how to wear a dress in a cold climate and I thought this will be a good chance to show you how its done.

Firstly, start with a great basic dress. I love this plaid jumper dress from ClubCouture and have worn it on my overseas trip. The dress came with the belt and was a striking preppy outfit worn on it’s own. The beauty of layering is that you can buy clothes that can still be worn in Singapore and not just when you are overseas, making your purchases more economical!

I’ve worn the dress without the belt so it’ll be easier to show you how I layer it later on. The dress is perfect for a rainy day in Singapore with a scoop neck and it’s knit material. Worn with ballet flats it’s great for watching 2 hour movies in the cold cinemas too.

Next layer, add leggings and boots.

There’s no hard and fast rule about it. It depends on the temperature once again. I have on thick knit leggings that I got in Korea and knee high boots from Steve Madden. This would be a really comfortable outfit for autumn. But if you feel that it’s too warm especially if it’s early autumn or if the place you are heading to is not that cold but just rather windy, you can always wear a lighter textured leggings with boots or even go with sneakers and flats.

If you are looking for a sexy pair of leggings, I’ll suggest these lace black leggings from ClubCouture. They are bound to up your style factor!

Next, add on a turtleneck knit.

This is actually more layer under then layer over. But adding a long sleeve knit turtleneck under your dress does keep you a lot warmer. If you are battling really cold weather, you can even consider cashmere turtlenecks and add on thermals under the dress. The beauty of this ClubCouture knit dress is that it’s pretty stretchable so it allows me to layer without looking bulky.

Now we get into the heavier more prominent layering for those going to holiday during winter.

I’ve added to my ensemble,  a fur scarf.

There are so many different types of scarves out there you can try. I’m using a faux fur scarf for this outfit but that doesn’t mean you can’s substitute it for knit or cashmere or angora.

And there are so many ways of wearing it too! You could just throw it over the dress and belt it up so it looks like a vest.

Or you could spin it around your neck and depending on the material of the scarf you can even do really fancy knots or wear it around your head.

And of course in when layering, one must not leave out the jacket or coat. It not only helps keep you warm but when there is snow or rain, it helps to keep your pretty dress from getting wet too!

I normally prefer to wear a trench coat with dresses cause it tends to give off a more polished vibe but I’ve worked the look with thick puffy snow jackets before and it does still look great. The type of jacket you choose, the material and whether or not it is waterproof depends on the temperature of the place you are visiting as well as they type of activities you will be engaging in.

For winter in a not too extreme winter area like Hong Kong or Perth or if you are visiting in late spring/early autumn, you can consider less bulky jackets and still feel warm if you layer well. The best part is you can reuse the jackets for Singapore weather. An example would be this Jamie Double Breasted Coat from ClubCouture.

Last but not least are to protect your ears and your hands. Whenever I travel in cold regions, my ears and my fingers are the most susceptible to the cold. It may not look like much but ear mufflers or hats and gloves makes such a big impact to making you feel warmer and more comfortable.

I personally love the warmth of ear mufflers. But I know that the look might not be suitable for everyone and so the best alternative is hats. There are so many choices of hats that there’ll definitely be one to suit you. Don’t forget to wear gloves too! I don’t have gloves in the photos as I’ve sent all my gloves to the cleaners.

See how easy it is to create an outfit that can take you through spring, summer, autumn and winter? And each of this piece can be reworked and reused in a million different combinations giving you endless different looks when you are travelling with just a luggage of clothes.

Hope that this post on layering will be useful to all you travel junkies out there! Enjoy and have fun experimenting!

They just happened to be at my place when the ClubCouture parcel arrived! Click the photo for the link to this pretty lace strapless dress!

But I will definitely wear this piece out soon and I’ll promise to upload the photos here on my blog.

I posted a ClubCouture contest sometime back ( details here) and thank you all for participating. Some of you sent me emails instead of posting the comment on the blog. I appreciate you all sharing a bit of yourself and what you like about renzze.com with me. This is the first time I held a contest on renzze.com and I wish I could give everyone a prize. Unfortunately there can only be one winner. If the response is good maybe I’ll be able to do up more contests next time!

And now for the winner!

Congratulations to Ivy Yeo.

You win this brand new lovely Lindsay Black Dress in size S  from ClubCouture’s current collection worth SGD59! I’ve informed ClubCouture of your winning and you should receive the dress shortly.

Ivy’s innovative use of a poem to convey her thoughts caught my eye. Kudos to you for being so creative.

Here’s her entry:

I was led to Renzze.com through Les Dames
A fashionista clad in beautiful ensembles of silk, chiffon, cotton and lame
Caught my eye and my breath she took
Went to her blog and I was hooked
What Renzee is wearing today?
Chloe, Bebe or Hermes whatever be it may
She looked stunning anyway

Fashion, food, travel, adventure and life
Her posts are interesting and variety is rife
Despite her claims of being an amateur
Her Canon entries reveal depth worthy of an author
How else can a picture a thousand words tell?
Love, action and energy they spell
Emotions evoked they capture so well

Endless are what I like and some reasons I may miss
What matters most is the lady she is
Ashley has beauty, brains and substance
She leads a life full of passion and abundance
Infectious is this zest of hers
Inspires she does readers like us
An avid visitor of this blog I am thus.

I must confess I love all things pretty and nice
Online shopping is not my sole vice
Shuttling between Singapore and Suzhou is a bore
Managing a company is my chore
Reading is my reprieve for brain clogs
Induced by stress from toil and slog
Panaceas are they: books, magazines and blogs.

I haven’t had time to post up new entires for my Taiwan trip but don’t worry they’ll be coming up soon… meanwhile here’s a sneak peak on some of the stuff I do while I’m back in Singapore… (other than work of course!)

I posted about being a ClubCouture Ambassador some time back in this post. And they arranged for all their 2010 ClubCouture ambassadors to come together for a small photo shoot session some time in December.

I take a multitude of photos everyday ( as you can see my blog is filled with all sorts of photos!) but some how a studio shot photo is still rather alien with me. You must find it weird cause I take holiday photos and outfit photos all the time! But it’s done in a casual, I don’t give a damn kinda way and my impression of studio shoots are that they are more focus on being glamorous. Another reason could be because of the the makeup! I’m a simple person with a simple routine… sunblock followed by eyeliner + falsies. Fast and easy and gets me out of the house in a jiffy (means I won’t be late for work!). No foundation, no eye shadows, no lipstick and sometimes not even blusher. And my last confession, I’m lazy to do my brows unless it’s for some big event. So you can imagine how uncomfortable having thick studio makeup might be on me! Luckily they had makeup artists there because I would be so lost if I had to do it myself.

The studio’s dressing room was quickly transformed into a girly joint. The girls having their hair and make up done while catching up or getting to know new people.

Flora and Kaitlyn, the lovely lovely people at ClubCouture even ordered McDonalds for those who skipped breakfast. The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxed which is fantastic! It made everyone feel like a part of the team instead of just work. Holly Jean and I got paired up together for the shoot and it was really nice getting to know her. We were the earliest there so after we were done we had some spare time to discuss about what clothes from ClubCouture’s current collection we loved and wanted to take home with us!

I love Holly’s black lace dress and and I got it for myself too! It’s so hot that it got swept off the shelves soon after it was released. But if you are interested, they do have a 3/4 sleeves version of this same dress that ClubCouture just launched.

I know you guys all are dying to see the photos from the shoot so here you go!

I’ll also take this chance to introduce some of the other ClubCouture Ambassadors.

Rachel Kum: http://www.rachelkum.com/

Melissa Faith Yeo: http://melissafaithyeo.blogspot.com/

Agri Velt: http://agrivelt.com/

Holly Jean: http://holly–jean.blogspot.com/

Renzze (Karen): http://www.renzze.com/

Paperger (Huirong): http://myfatpocket.com/huirong/

Jeanine Gabrielle: http://bamboopandalove.wordpress.com/

And girls being girls, we had to take even more photos backstage while waiting in turn for each other to have their photos taken! Most of the girls are experienced with studio photography. As for me, well, it’s an eye opener to see how everything runs and how composed these girls are when the bright lights are on them. They pose confidently and pout beautifully, making such wonderful ambassadors for ClubCouture! Hopefully I’ll learn a tip or two from these pros. =)

And with the generosity of ClubCouture, I was able to wrangle a freebie for my lovely readers as well!

I will be giving this brand new lovely Lindsay Black Dress in size S  from ClubCouture’s current collection worth SGD59 to one lucky reader!

To win it, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what do you like about Renzze.com and then tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you as my reader better.

Then copy and email your answer together with your nick, real name and address to renzze@gmail.com =)

It’s that simple!

Winners will be announced on my blog as well as via email.

I’m really glad to be a part of ClubCoutures family. I was smitten after the very 1st outfit they sent me. You all might recall the lovely black maxi with sexy straps at the back which I wore in Bali. ( Click here if you want to see the full post.)

ClubCouture is an international fashion label and have been prominent in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. And I’m glad it has picked Singapore to expand its’ business.

It’s not everyday that a girl like me stumbles upon a fantastic well established online retailer that gives the reassurance and professionalism surpassing many boutiques’ services. Being able to work with a company that cares and listens to their customers and ensures high quality products is very important to me. I will never bring something I don’t personally trust to my readers.

ClubCouture brings in new arrivals daily so it’s difficult not to get tempted every time I go to their site. In fact I wore this black and white eyelet dress on my trip to Penang and garnered tons of praises even though it was such a simple design. These pictures are actually a sneak peek to my trip since I haven’t gotten around uploading the rest of the trip’s photos. I just had to share with you the lovely dress first!

Having designers from different part of the world means there’s something for everyone. Although their clothes comes in limited quantity to maintain exclusivity so if you see something you like, you better grab on fast! I had considered 3 dresses previously from their site but since I was abroad I decided to hold the ordering till I was back in Singapore. 2 days later, all 3 pieces were out of small sizes… Argh!!!! In the end, I went ahead and ordered 1 of the dress ( a long sleeve dress) in medium and I intend to alter it to fit. It was too pretty to just let go even though it was out of stock in my size. When I received the package, it was everything I imagined it to be and I was so glad to have ordered it! I’m gonna send it to the seamstress after Christmas and hopefully you’ll get to see me wearing it sometime in January!

I will still enjoy shopping at boutiques and travelling the world to find little fashion gems to add to my wardrobe collection but as far as online shopping for clothes go, I found my mecca in ClubCouture. And since it is international, it means I can send my girlfriends working, studying or living in US, UK and Australia surprise gifts by ordering through the site. It’ll save me all the hassle of going to the post office and having to pack the items neatly.

And in light of the coming Christmas spirit of giving, I have 2 great offers to share with you. Firstly, if you shop at ClubCouture , just enter RENZZE15 at the shopping bag before you check out and you will get 15% off your merchandise!

And the 2nd piece of good news is…

ClubCouture is currently having a Christmas Wishlist Giveaway!

Simply put, just click here ( or use the image link on my sidebar) to go to ClubCouture to start your Christmas List. Browse and add the items that you would love to receive for your Christmas presents and if you’ve been a good girl this year, Santa (or in this case, ClubCouture) might pick you to win $100 worth of items! One lucky gal will have her dreams come true every week! And the since there is no purchase necessary, there’s nothing to lose… so go and do up your wish list now!

I’ve already done mine =) Here I am sharing my personal ClubCouture wishlist below with all of you! I even added my own comments under each of my wish items! Friends and family, send me yours!

If you have a friend, family or love one that with the best of intentions always seems to give you gifts that you don’t really fancy, you could also email them your wishlist so they don’t have to search high and low for that perfect gift for you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have that gorgeous ClubCouture satin dress you saw on the site instead of a copy of a book you already bought for yourself or a vase that looks pretty but have no place in your home. Make the spirit of giving easier on your love ones and yourself!

The best part? Whether you win the Christmas Wishlist Contest, or get a present from a good pal or buy it as a Christmas gift for yourself, you will always emerge looking fabulous at late-night soirées or Christmas parties with ClubCouture’s glamorous styles.

So head on to www.clubcouture.cc today.
