As some of you may know I don’t use any sort of cream, foundation or makeup on my face other than eyeliner and false lashes. Makeup isn’t a priority but skin care is. And one of the most important aspect of skin care is sun protection. Living in a sunny island like Singapore makes it even more vital.

My daily sunscreen is called Doll by Porcelain. It is an oil free tinted sunscreen which goes on easy and leaves no residue or any of that greasy feeling normally associated with sunscreen. A tiny little bit goes a long way!

90% of skin aging problems like pigmentation and wrinkles come from the lack of sun protection. Doll’s oil free, paraben free, sunscreen does not clog pores and corrects existing pigmentation. It’s suitable for any skin type.

I’m currently in Bali and have been using this every single day to shield my face from the strong sun while I relax all day in the pool. As I have had many requests for my skin care and make up routine, I will be doing a little show and tell soon. But meanwhile, you could easily win yourself a bottle of Doll to try out for yourself. One bottle can last 12 to 18 months.

Here’s how to get your hands on a Doll sunscreen worth SGD160.

First, visit the Porcelain The Face Spa Facebook Page. Then, simply share your experience with sun overexposure and how Doll Sunscreen can benefit you! For every 10 entries, 1 Doll sunscreen will be given away. That’s a really high chance! So ask all your family and friends to join too since the more people that participate, the more tubes of Doll would be given out free!

I’ve already added my entry and you should do so before the deadline for the lucky draw on Friday, 30th July 2010!

Some of you might recall that I posted the ClubCouture “Who Wore It Best” contest last week. Well, the results are out!!!

I had quite a number of entries pouring in despite only having the contest run for 3 days. Friends and readers both sent in their applications and to be fair, I shortlisted a couple of girls and had Flora and Kaitlyn of ClubCouture help me out with the final selection so there will be no biasness.

The winner is Clara Hwang!

Congratulations! Clara wins a $50 ClubCouture shopping vouchers + a free signature tank top to style and above all, automatically qualify as a finalist in ClubCouture’s Who Wore it Best Contest!!

Additionally, she’ll get a full size Skin79 Oriental BB Cream to review and keep.

And to the other girls that were shortlisted, they will be invited to be do a guest post on renzze.com and I will be sending them each 1 miniature sample of  skin79 BB Cream for them to also do a review to share with the readers here. So readers, look out for their postings on renzze.com soon.

Here are the short-listed candidates (in alphabetical order).

I’ve been meaning to write a review post on my facial treatments at Porcelain but I have been too busy to do so. It’s been a fantastic experience with them and my skin had never looked better! I’ve been so happy about my glowing skin! My sister was amazed that I wasn’t wearing any sort of foundation, makeup base and yet seem to have a new very radiant skin and many of my close friends have been asking me for the address and telephone number of Porcelain The Face Spa so that they can book their appointments. To those that I’ve been too busy to get back to you… here’ s the address and the promotional code for the $38 trial with a free eye mask!

31A Cantonment Road, Singapore 089747 (tel: 62279692)

I promise I’ll find time to do a post to answer a number of email quires on Porcelain as well as my skin care routine.

Today I’ll tell you about my current Porcelain Pure Cleanser. It’s extremely effective at removing impurities yet mild enough that it doesn’t dry out your skin. Many of the cleansers out there can be too harsh for our delicate skin especially for people like me with sensitive skin.

I found Porcelain Pure Cleanser to be as good as one of the expensive cleansers (not naming the brand because it was good to use just super ex!) that I use to buy from another renown facial salon. But at $180 a bottle I could easily buy 2 of the Porcelain Pure Cleanser with change to spare. And the ingredients are 80% similar! So are the effects!

Here’s a list of the  8 Key Active Botanical Ingredients

Cucumber Extract

Chamomile Extract

Horse Chesntut Extract

Rosemary Extract

Nettle Extract

Green Tea Extracts

Coltsfoot Extract

Sage Extracts

Normally, I’ll pump one pea size to lather with water into a very light foam and then proceed to cleanse my face. After that I’ll rinse with water then put on toner. One bottle would easily last 6 months or more so it’s quite value for money.

I’ll share more about my skin care routine in another post in July. Meanwhile for those who would like a chance to win a Porcelain Pure Cleanser worth S$75, here’s how!

First, visit the Porcelain The Face Spa Facebook Page. Then, for those who have already tried Porcelain Pure Cleanser, you may write a short review on it. For those who haven’t tried it but would love to win a full size cleanser so that you can also experience the wonderful benefits, you can either write one of the benefits of the product or write why the product is good for you.

But you gotta act fast because the deadline for the lucky draw is this Monday, 5th July 2010!

Awhile back, ClubCouture sent each of their ambassadors 2 plain tank tops. One white and one black. The challenge was simple enough – to incorporate the simple item with our usual twist of style. You may view everyone’s version at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=22705&id=120133224663937&ref=mf and just ‘like’  the photo to vote.

Psst, as a bonus, look out for the contest information at the end of this post :)

Here’s Renzze’s variation.

FOR THE BLACK CLUBCOUTURE TANK TOP

Click here to “like” this look. You need to like the ClubCouture page first :)

For a simple dress down summer feel I paired the black tank with a military green skirt and a basic floppy sun hat. A very comfortable and simple outfit that was fantastic for taking my 2 dogs for a day out at the beach.

This tank top and skirt combi over a bikini is one of my go to looks for beach holidays where I want to be able to be presentable enough for sightseeing and yet be comfortable on the beach. I wore a similar combination once in Bali and having a long maxi meant I was able to enter places of worship as well.

But a tank top is one of the easiest most basic item we can have in our wardrobe and so many looks can be achieved with it.

FOR THE WHITE CLUBCOUTURE TANK TOP

Click here to “like” this look. You need to like the ClubCouture page first :)

This girly look is also very much a part of my personal style. I simply love frills and pretty skirts. I paired the white ClubCouture tank top with a flare skirt and a cropped cardi for a preppy flapper girl look.

Perfect for tea with my dearest girl friends. The socks also gave my Dior cage heels a different feel for it’s usual formal interpretation. The simple white tank brought together all the elements.

And now it’s contest time!!!

ClubCouture has recently moved to a new fan page on facebook at http://facebook.clubcouture.cc

You may visit the ClubCouture facebook fan page to see all the different ambassdors’ interpretation of the basic tank and vote for your favourite one!

Voting starts today! So click here to vote.

Remember to LIKE the ClubCouture facebook fan page first!

The ambassador with the most total “likes” on their photo will win $100 worth of Takashimaya vouchers. And one randomly selected fan who voted for the winning blogger will win a set of the camis and S$50 worth of ClubCouture vouchers.

How wonderful! Do spread the word around and I hope you enjoy viewing the different photos! Voting will end 20th May!

Recently Miss Glitzy approached me to ask if I would be interested in participating in her “Lets care and Celebrate” campaign and I was more then delighted to be able to make a contribution. You may want to read more about it here.

The idea was simple, a group of bloggers will each contribute some items for the public to bid for and all and yes! I mean all 100% of the proceeds will go to charity. The Charity that will benefit from this auction is the Singapore Council of  Women’s Organisations (SCWO) Star Shelter program. Taken from their site…

“ Star Shelter opens its doors to women and their children who have been abused. It is a charity registered with the Registrar of Charities and is the only secular crisis centre in Singapore. Since it’s opening, Star Shelter has housed over 800 women and their children. Women admitted to the shelter were aged between 18 – 75 and children ranged from newborn – 11 years old for boys and no age limit for girls.

Residences at the shelter were a good mix of all races including foreign wives with Singaporean children and most of them were from the lower income group – unable to find shelter when they leave their abusive relationship. All the residences at the shelter are referred by the Family Court, The Family Service Centres, the Police, Hospitals or other Agencies who run crisis helplines, e.g. the Samaritans of Singapore, AWARE and PAVE.”

If you want to know more about them, you may find out here.

Here are some items that are out for bidding contributed  by the following bloggers.

DottieStephie (Fashion Nation)

X-Wen (Fash-Eccentric)

Alvin (Bagaholicboy)

Nicole (Cherry Magazine)

Karen Ashley (Renzze.com)

Miss Glitzy & friends (Glitzy)

I decided to donate 2 sets of items for the Charity Auction (A1 & A2). Both items chosen with care and with much personal meaning because I didn’t just want others to bid on something I personally did not wish to keep but on items that have a lot of emotional value to me.

The first item I have up is a genuine Marc by Marc Jacob hat and flip-flops in A1.

The reversible hat has the cutest Miss Marc print on it. And as most of my close friends know, I love collecting Miss Marc merchandise. And this is my absolute favorite beach hat. Many times have readers emailed me asking me if I would sell my Miss Marc items (especially this beach series) and I have fervently said no and explained that I had no intentions of letting them go at all. Even my own blood little sister who has been eying on them ever since the day I got them never had the luxury of borrowing them. And the white Marc by Marc Jacobs slippers are absolutely brand new. I’ve never worn them before as I was afraid of staining the white flip-flops and ruining my pretty collection.

But when Miss Glitzy approached me to be a party of this charity fund raising, I did some research on Star Shelter and I knew immediately that they needed support and financial aid more then I can imagine. If I chose to give something that I would just easily sell away then the bidders might not be willing to donate as much. So here’s my contribution to them… a gift of love and for the first time I’m putting part of my Miss Marc collection for bidding. And the starting bid will be only a tiny fraction of the real cost. Hopefully my readers can spread the world and these items would land up as a token of thank you to the generous bidder that is willing to donate a good sum to the Women’s Star Shelter.

The 2nd item I have contributed for donation is this lovely puff skirt I wore in Disneysea (A2). While it’s value may not be as much as the MBMJ items in A1, it has a lot of emotional value to me. I had one of the best times of my life with my girlies in Disneysea last year. Given today’s hectic lifestyle, how often do you get a group of you close girl pals to make the time to go on a trip together (one of the girls is now a new mother!). The skirt is a constant reminder the  happy times we’ve spent together and of how blessed I am. A reminder I hope would help bring hope and happiness to the women in need at Star Shelter with the contributions from this auction.

Although I wore the skirt as an outer piece for my Japan trip, this skirt has also doubled up as a layering device under some other skirts and dresses that needed some layering to puff it up and give it some volume. I absolutely love how practical and also frivolous this skirt can be when paired up differently. After letting this piece go I’ll be on the look out again for another similar skirt which I can use for layering and even though the new skirt would not hold such fond memories for me, I will be happy to know that it had gone to a good cause.

So please visit the auction and bid for your favorite items! Take home one of the gorgeous items up for bid and also do a part for charity. How rewarding!

You can visit the auction by clicking the image below !

or you can also click on the Give a Gift Charity Auction link I have on my side bar (the links will only work when the charity auction opens on 22nd March 2010 – Monday at 12pm sharp).

The 1st auction will run from 22nd March 2010 at 12pm!

So be sure to put in your bid. You can read more about it here too!

Please don’t forget to spread the word around. The more the merrier!

I posted a ClubCouture contest sometime back ( details here) and thank you all for participating. Some of you sent me emails instead of posting the comment on the blog. I appreciate you all sharing a bit of yourself and what you like about renzze.com with me. This is the first time I held a contest on renzze.com and I wish I could give everyone a prize. Unfortunately there can only be one winner. If the response is good maybe I’ll be able to do up more contests next time!

And now for the winner!

Congratulations to Ivy Yeo.

You win this brand new lovely Lindsay Black Dress in size S  from ClubCouture’s current collection worth SGD59! I’ve informed ClubCouture of your winning and you should receive the dress shortly.

Ivy’s innovative use of a poem to convey her thoughts caught my eye. Kudos to you for being so creative.

Here’s her entry:

I was led to Renzze.com through Les Dames
A fashionista clad in beautiful ensembles of silk, chiffon, cotton and lame
Caught my eye and my breath she took
Went to her blog and I was hooked
What Renzee is wearing today?
Chloe, Bebe or Hermes whatever be it may
She looked stunning anyway

Fashion, food, travel, adventure and life
Her posts are interesting and variety is rife
Despite her claims of being an amateur
Her Canon entries reveal depth worthy of an author
How else can a picture a thousand words tell?
Love, action and energy they spell
Emotions evoked they capture so well

Endless are what I like and some reasons I may miss
What matters most is the lady she is
Ashley has beauty, brains and substance
She leads a life full of passion and abundance
Infectious is this zest of hers
Inspires she does readers like us
An avid visitor of this blog I am thus.

I must confess I love all things pretty and nice
Online shopping is not my sole vice
Shuttling between Singapore and Suzhou is a bore
Managing a company is my chore
Reading is my reprieve for brain clogs
Induced by stress from toil and slog
Panaceas are they: books, magazines and blogs.

I haven’t had time to post up new entires for my Taiwan trip but don’t worry they’ll be coming up soon… meanwhile here’s a sneak peak on some of the stuff I do while I’m back in Singapore… (other than work of course!)

I posted about being a ClubCouture Ambassador some time back in this post. And they arranged for all their 2010 ClubCouture ambassadors to come together for a small photo shoot session some time in December.

I take a multitude of photos everyday ( as you can see my blog is filled with all sorts of photos!) but some how a studio shot photo is still rather alien with me. You must find it weird cause I take holiday photos and outfit photos all the time! But it’s done in a casual, I don’t give a damn kinda way and my impression of studio shoots are that they are more focus on being glamorous. Another reason could be because of the the makeup! I’m a simple person with a simple routine… sunblock followed by eyeliner + falsies. Fast and easy and gets me out of the house in a jiffy (means I won’t be late for work!). No foundation, no eye shadows, no lipstick and sometimes not even blusher. And my last confession, I’m lazy to do my brows unless it’s for some big event. So you can imagine how uncomfortable having thick studio makeup might be on me! Luckily they had makeup artists there because I would be so lost if I had to do it myself.

The studio’s dressing room was quickly transformed into a girly joint. The girls having their hair and make up done while catching up or getting to know new people.

Flora and Kaitlyn, the lovely lovely people at ClubCouture even ordered McDonalds for those who skipped breakfast. The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxed which is fantastic! It made everyone feel like a part of the team instead of just work. Holly Jean and I got paired up together for the shoot and it was really nice getting to know her. We were the earliest there so after we were done we had some spare time to discuss about what clothes from ClubCouture’s current collection we loved and wanted to take home with us!

I love Holly’s black lace dress and and I got it for myself too! It’s so hot that it got swept off the shelves soon after it was released. But if you are interested, they do have a 3/4 sleeves version of this same dress that ClubCouture just launched.

I know you guys all are dying to see the photos from the shoot so here you go!

I’ll also take this chance to introduce some of the other ClubCouture Ambassadors.

Rachel Kum: http://www.rachelkum.com/

Melissa Faith Yeo: http://melissafaithyeo.blogspot.com/

Agri Velt: http://agrivelt.com/

Holly Jean: http://holly–jean.blogspot.com/

Renzze (Karen): http://www.renzze.com/

Paperger (Huirong): http://myfatpocket.com/huirong/

Jeanine Gabrielle: http://bamboopandalove.wordpress.com/

And girls being girls, we had to take even more photos backstage while waiting in turn for each other to have their photos taken! Most of the girls are experienced with studio photography. As for me, well, it’s an eye opener to see how everything runs and how composed these girls are when the bright lights are on them. They pose confidently and pout beautifully, making such wonderful ambassadors for ClubCouture! Hopefully I’ll learn a tip or two from these pros. =)

And with the generosity of ClubCouture, I was able to wrangle a freebie for my lovely readers as well!

I will be giving this brand new lovely Lindsay Black Dress in size S  from ClubCouture’s current collection worth SGD59 to one lucky reader!

To win it, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what do you like about Renzze.com and then tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you as my reader better.

Then copy and email your answer together with your nick, real name and address to renzze@gmail.com =)

It’s that simple!

Winners will be announced on my blog as well as via email.

And for those of you keen on checking out ClubCouture latest collection, do seize in on their current free shipping on all items promo!
