My Doggies

I honestly miss my dogs the most when I go on long trips. They are like my little babies… if it wasn’t that much of a hassle I would love to bring them to see the world with me! I brought them out to meet Bella for a lunch play date at Earth Cafe.

Daddy was on a business trip so I asked mum along to join Bernice and me. AC was in town for a couple of days cause it’s his University holiday so he came along too!

The food was not bad for humans but I think the doggies enjoyed their portions better!

Too bad Yan and Melvin couldn’t make it this time but we’ll meet them up soon with Nikki! I think the dogs love having play dates… especially Bella!

Mummy is super bias! She loves Louis the most!

It’s no easy feat trying to take pictures with hyper excited dogs! They are so easily distracted by all the other dogs at the cafe! When they are ready to pose for a snapshot I’m not! And when I turn to do my cheese shot they start to play!!!

After playing hard the whole afternoon it was time for a car ride back to my place for more fun and games. Those thirsty babies kept drinking water in the back seat.

Lastly… some of my daily outfit shots =)

When you were much younger and still in school you might have wondered who would get married first. But it never occurred to me to wonder who would be a mummy first!

One of the early birds (though not the earliest) is Doreen. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl and I was invited for the Desiree’s 1st month at Marina ONE15 at Sentosa. To be honest I’ve never been there before but its wasn’t to hard to navigate my way by car.

The little one was so adorable and precious it was hard not to fall in love with her. Doreen also taught a valuable lesson on diaper changing =) I really need to meet her up soon! I promised to call after I came back from Bali but have been so caught up I haven’t.

The marina is quite pretty though the on-going construction of the IR taints the view a little. Louis and Emmie came along and had quite a lot of fun running about the boardwalk alongside the marina.

Just a quick update on Louis’ condition. He’s actually feeling much much better know and is eating as per normal. His diarrhea has stopped though his stools are still tinged with blood. His anti-biotics would last for another 2 weeks even though the vet says he should be more or less recovered and healed up by Saturday ( another 2 days more).

Thank you all for your concern and love… it’s always nice to know that both Louis and myself is not totally alone when something bad like this happens. To the sweet blog readers and dog owners that emailed me advice and stories of your personal experiences with your own pets… thanks for your supportive words.

To my dear friends and family, I love you all and appreciate your attempts at wanting to celebrate my birthday with me and am so sorry I’ve pushed most of our appointments to this weekend instead. It’s the thought that counts and I do feel very lucky to have you all there for me even though I know some of you are extremely busy! Here’s sending out my hugs and kisses!

Louis gave me quite a scare these last 2 days. He was having diarrhea which was bad but I had assumed he was just detoxifying. Unfortunately… it escalated in 24 hours and I was soon having to clean up almost every half hour. The poop also became less of poop and more of blood and blood clots. I was in total panic with no idea what to do in the middle of the night other than to vigilantly watch over him. It pained me to see his uncomfortable look whenever he had to go and he looked so guilty for making a mess even though it really isn’t his fault he is sick.

By morning I called the vet to make an appointment. I was told to bring him in the afternoon. They did some test and analyzed his stool/blood. He was a brave boy as how he always is without flinching much or even making any sound when he had to be jabbed. The most painful one should be the enemas cause he actually whined and whimpered in pain for quite sometime which is totally out of character for him. My heart broke just having to watch him.

I was told that it was a serious bacteria infection he had gotten from contaminated bird/lizard droppings. The doctor said if all goes well he should recover in a week though it will be a rather exhausting and stressful week for him. He was given jabs… drips and a whole ton of medication but I’m glad to report he definitely looks a whole lot better.

Thanks to YL for rushing down to the hospital to see Louis and I’m really sorry you had such a hard time contacting me… I truly was too distressed then to realize I didn’t have my phone with me. And to Lerelyn for being so sweet and cooking fish porridge for Louis to make his medication easier to bear. And to my friends and family that sent their love and blessings and requests to come visit him. He’ll be so happy to know that he’s so well loved.

The one thing that touched me the most was how he was in total pain but was still worried that he had done something wrong by making me clean up after him all the time… when I left him at the hospital… he looked at me with a face that was totally crest-fallen… he probably thought I was going to abandon him for having messed up. Sighs… how can I not love him even more.

Here are some pictures of my dogs in recent happier times when Louis was still healthy and I’d bring them for walks and picnics at the park.

And in consistent with my outfit postings… this is another outfit that I wore when I was out with the dogs for lunch. I love my pink ballerina crocs when I’m with my dogs.

Some of you have been asking about Louis and Emmie. They are both doing well and though they’ll love to be able to go out whenever they can. I’ve generally over indulged them with my love and attention causing them to get very clingy to me.

Louis especially needs a lot of space to run and exercise so I’ve found a new spot to take them swimming these days. Changi Beach. The place is quiet and not as crowded as most beaches. The long stretches of sand makes it perfect for them to run around and have fun without invading into personal spaces of other beach goers.

I also love how the forested areas looks and feel. Very refreshing in comparison to ECP.

I wished I had taken more pictures of Emmie but she was running happily all over the place making it harder for me to capture her.

While I was busy cam-whoring and snapping pictures of my dogs… Louis suddenly realized that we were really near the water. The moment he saw water there was no stopping him… he ran and jumped in with Emmie running close behind. I didn’t mean to bring them swimming that day was just scouting the place but they didn’t give me a choice. When I ran after him and saw his smiling face and waggy tail emerge from the water… my heart melted… how could I possibly be mad at him! He didn’t know he was not supposed to be swimming that day… He was such a happy dog.

I’ve got the video of them in the water playing fetch but I haven’t had the time to edit and post it… might post it up another time =)

I’m not always around as much as I would like to but I almost never miss my sister’s birthday. She’s the only sibling I have and rather dear to me.

The day before I took her to yummy dinner and we went shopping for her present which turns out to be a new camera =) She insisted on a pink one of course.

The on the actual day she threw a huge BBQ with all her friends down to celebrate!

I was there too… with Louis and Emmie and I’m sure my sister had a great time with so many good friends and wonderful presents.

Louis, Emmie and myself wishes her all the happiness in the world and we all love her so very much!

I know National Day past sometime back but I’m always a little behind on the photos cause I don’t have time to upload them everyday! I tend to store a batch of pictures on the camera before loading them up.

I wore a patriotic red and white to commemorate the day and, like previous years, Louis and Emmie had their “I love Singapore” flag themed scarfs on as well!

I’ve had family and friends over that weekend and had a mini cook feast! So it was basically an eating weekend! I really can’t begin to tell you how exhausted the 3 cooks were… but the oily greasy faces should tell you how hard we worked in the kitchen!
