My Doggies

Lerelyn had her big birthday bash at Costa Sands chalet. The food was really good as it was prepared by the birthday girl! Being there however, reminds me of how old I am already… lol… no longer in the exciting teenage years.

Later that night, my sister and her boyfriend (Dave) and Aikee came over to my place for a round of rock band mania!

Took Emmie to visit the vet cause she had a blocked tear duct. This causes her tears to be excessively staining her eye area as it is not properly drained through her nose. If left untreated, it could result in a cherry eye or blindness so I thought I better get her checked even though she seemed otherwise fine and healthy.

As it turns out, the blocked tear duct caused so itchiness in one of her eyes so she scratched it with her paw but it isn’t anything serious and will heal with some eye drops. She has to wear the cone till it heals so she won’t scratch it anymore. According to the vet, blocked tear ducts are relatively common especially with small breeds and as many as 1 in 5 get it at some point or other. Emmie’s blockage is hereditary so there isn’t much anything could be done. The good thing is that it’s only on one side and it isn’t a major problem. Just keep it in check and bring to the vet if there are any possible signs of swelling in the future.

Here’s my outfit shots.

My little sister’s room has got the cutest things sometimes.

She inherited my old room so whenever I’m back at my parent’s place I like to hang in her room. But of course the room now has her identity and character.

Apparently, I’m not the only visitor that likes hanging out in her room. Louis and Emmie would run into the room to look for new toys to play too.

I’m imagining that my email must be overflowing now. But I wouldn’t know cause I’m still away and won’t have the time to come online. These posts have been schedule early cause I know I won’t be around. So if you have left a comment or sent me an email please be patient with the reply :)

Anyways, today’s post is also another outfit post. This dress is from F21 and after wearing it out to run some errands, it’s already been handed down to my little sister. She wasn’t in a good state when I left so I do hope that she’ll be strong and I’ll see her soon when I get back.

I also got my F21, ASOS and Shopbop loot not not too long ago… they really ship their stuff in big boxes with lots of protection. My ASOS buys were during the time where they had their free shipping to Singapore promo and with the pounds running so low these days, I’m glad I placed my order!

I’ll be back in a couple more days and I can see my Louis and Emmie again! Poor babies didn’t get their weekend outing before I left because I was so sick. Hopefully I can find time to take them for a swim when I get back. Totally miss them crowding around me when I take my outfit for the day shots.

The day SH came to Singapore to stay with us was a one really wet and rainy day! Like a lot of good things, it was a last minute impromptu decision and we only knew he was coming the day before! The weather however, was not that kind and ECP was absolutely flooded!

Bringing SH around to explore Singapore was easy peasy because all he really wanted to do was to eat! All our local delicacies especially Hainanese chicken rice. I have to agree with him on this. I absolutely believe that Singapore has the best Hainanese chicken rice to offer.

And for dessert, few things can beat our yummy Ah-Balling or also known as tang yuan with fillings.

I’m sure SH enjoyed himself because the last time I spoke to him, he still remembered all the yummy food he had in Singapore!

Yes I know I know! It’s already March 2010! Why am I still blogging about Halloween 2009! Thats so last year!

Well, the fact is I got so caught up with traveling and sorts the last half year that I haven’t had time to post up the photos and I owe it to many of my friends to put up the pics too. So not only is it just Halloween but there will be Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and more out dated posts that will be coming your way. Give me time as I let my posts catch up with my current happenings yah?

As I mentioned, I had a couple of Halloween parties to attend after the wedding but I didn’t bring along my camera so no photos. Louis and Emmie went along to some of those parties, stopping over at MASKA club as well as Debbie’s party to say hi!

As you can tell from the photos, their Halloween theme was insects and Emmie dressed as a ladybug while Louis was a bumble bee!

Instead of “Trick or Treat”, they went more towards and “Trick and Treat” approach. Happily performing tricks for doggie treats in return! Like little children, they must be really happy to have gathered some yummies that day!

Before I begin this post, may I remind my dearest readers and friends that the Auction for Charity has started so if you haven’t visited to take a look at what goodies are up for bid, you may do so now! Just click here!

And if you have no idea what I’m talking about you may read about it in my previous post.

Now back to my doggies…

First, a disclaimer. This is not an advertorial. I just like that this dog treat is 100% fish and not one of those treats that have lots of funny chemicals, food colorings, wheat and flour as their main ingredients.

I got my dogs a new treat to try and it’s currently one of their favorites! I’m really picky about the treats I get for my dogs. Usually they get human grade food as treats. Such as plain boiled or dehydrated chicken breast meat or unsalted cheese or whole dehydrated lamb legs. They really love salmon too which is great cause of the fish oils. This treat has Omega 3, 6 and 9 for my fur babies.

I try to stay away from made in china treats and these days they tend to disguise themselves as Japanese or Korean products. They’ll print Japanese or Korean words everywhere and if you look really really hard, you’ll find a small print saying it’s made in China or the manufacturer ( not distributer)  is a china address. I’ve nothing against China in general but their track record for foodstuffs hasn’t been too good with many recalls for both human foods as well as dog foods. If some of those food production in China are even willing to sacrifice the well being of their human consumers in exchange for profit, I fear their commitment to produce good quality healthy food for our pets.

Anyways, back to the light hearted matters. Here are some shots of Louis really happy with his treats. Emmie is a little more camera shy so I couldn’t get any shots of her.

I’ve tried the Fish4Dogs kibbles for them as well. They do love it. However, the food gives their poop a rather fishy smell which I dislike (since I have to clean up after them) so I’ll just stick to their old brand and just give them treats from this brand.

For those of you who have followed me on twitter, you’ll know that I’ve been travelling a lot and since I’ve been around these 2 weeks, I’ve spent a good portion of time making it up to my dogs. I’m amazed that they are still so adorable and that they love me so much. They put me in the center of their world and I want to give them the best I can as well and that means spending time with them whenever I can.

Recently Louis has been extremely attached to me. He plops himself on my thighs or by my pillow side whenever he can. We had fun taking them out for a cycling trip at ECP recently with the dogs in the baskets as we ride. Clara and Celeste were blading and it was a beautiful day out.  I think he misses getting to go out to meet some of his doggie pals as well. I really should organize  a play date for both Louis and Emmie soon.

As the title of this post suggests, some have asked me what foodstuff I bought in Taiwan. Well, quite a lot but I didn’t take photos of most of them and many I’ve already given away to friends and relatives. Those that I did take, I’ll share with you here.

Mochi… this one is black sugar version. I prefer those with the fillings though.

I love love love their Man Han Da Xi instant noodles. The egg I added in but the noodles does come with meats! Incredible and damn shiok! Quite  a huge portion too!

The chips are so-so but the Lay’s Mala one is not bad.

Boxes of macaroons I bought to give away to friends. The fillings are flavored marshmallows instead of cream so it can last longer.

Boxes of pineapple tarts also to give away. Though many people have raved about Taiwan’s pineapple tarts, for personal consumption, I much prefer the ones I make.

The famous Tai Yang Bing or Honey Malt Sunny Pie. Pretty good and great for people with a sweet tooth!

I just got back and already my plate of to-do is overflowing ( reports… weddings… assignments… housework!). Still, it’s great to be home and to be able to spend time with my doggies and do simple things like cooking or meeting up my family and friends (I haven’t seen them in ages and which I’ve yet to do!).

I’ve removed my “away” banner and replaced it with a new one… no prizes for guessing what I will be blogging about in the next couple of days! I actually wanted to blog sooner but as it turns out, I had some technical difficulties and couldn’t get my photos uploaded. In fact I still owe some people photos ( sorry Holly) and I couldn’t do up some of my assignments on time.

But it’s all gonna be fine cause all my technical issues seem to be coming together just fine. I am now able to upload pics… my BB that recently died ( I lost everyone’s contacts for awhile) has miraculously revived itself  and is working like new.

I did mention that I do like cooking (especially when it’s more of the baking variety) when I have spare time on my hands… so I made some Hawaiian pizzas.

Yummy!

And the fresh pineapple I bought to cook came with the standard tag with rubber band. This I gave to Louis so he could use it as a hat! Hehe.

He was happy with his new hat… and stayed with me in the kitchen while I baked.

Here was the outfit I wore to run some errands… pass a friend a belated birthday gift and then to the supermarket to gather all the ingredients for the pizza.

Pantsuits can be quite fun sometimes!

Close up of accessories and shoes… I wasn’t supposed to be wearing those green earrings… I found them dropped in my car and was afraid I’ll lose them again so I decided that the safest way was to wear them till I got home but I forgot to take them off before my outfit photos were taken!
