Headed back to Zurich city for some shopping. Everything here is more expensive! Even swiss chocolates are cheaper when I bought them in Germany so other than a couple of souvenirs, I really didn’t shop much. The cruise on lake Zurich is quite pleasant though.

Here’s a video to share with you my trip to Lucerne and a little of Zurich.

I was going to be traveling and would miss little Arielle’s 2nd birthday party. So I met up with Bernice, Kelvin and Arielle before I left. Dinner was at Ramen Santouka. It was my first time trying it out but it turns out to have pretty delicious ramen.
.
After dinner we had a leisurely stroll around Clarke Quay area. The whole place was beautifully lighted up and we bought Arielle a balloon with changing lights which she absolutely adored!

Arielle has been mesmerized with the passing boats since dinner time and I proposed taking her on her first boat ride. Initially we were afraid that she might not be comfortable moving on water but it turns out that she enjoyed it very much.

If I recall correctly, it was also Bernice and Kelvin’s first time taking a boat trip on a Singapore river. We all felt like tourists in our own country!

I’ve taken boat rides on the Singapore river but it was my first time on a Hippo river cruise. The last time I took a ride on the Singapore River was eons ago. The landscapes have changed so much and it was quite pretty to see the new Marina Sands from the river view.

We were totally in luck because our river tour coincides with the water, music and lights show that was happening at The Sands and we had a gorgeous view!

Well, I hope little Arielle enjoyed her first boat ride. Hopefully I won’t miss her birthday next year!

And to wrap this post up, here’s the video that captures our little boating adventure as well as some extra scenes. It can also be viewed on youtube at http://youtu.be/Dr3ZH3vpeRY

An annual 3 day event in Zurich where everyone comes to party, enjoy good food, drinks and music! It’s one of the world’s largest techno parties!

Considering that people all over Europe travel to Zurich for this street parade, it’s surprisingly one of the safest mass events in the world with everyone here to promote love and peace through dance. Drugs are also not welcomed!

The Street Parade is still after all a demonstration that calls on everyone to live together in peace and tolerance. A demonstration that celebrates the joy of life with electronic music.

The 2.4 km–long Street Parade route begins at 3.15 pm at Utoquai in the Zürich neighbourhood of Seefeld, from where it will head around the lakefront via Bellevue, Quaibrücke and Bürkliplatz, arriving at Hafendamm Enge at around 10 pm. The fun will continue at the after-parties at Opernhaus, Bellevue, Bürkliplatz, Rentenanstalt and Limmatquai until midnight.

Everyone was outrageously dressed and very willing to pose for pictures. A wonderfully fun crowd and boy can some of them dance! My favorite is a goth guy who techno dance was mesmerizing! You can view it in the video at the end of the post.

The photos and the video pretty much says everything!

I’m finally back home in Singapore. The long trip has made me extremely home sick! Now all I want to do is stay home to do nothing with my family and take my 2 dogs out for their walks, swim or cycle. Travelling to places is always fun but home is where my heart belongs and I think I’m gonna be settling in Singapore for quite awhile to find my balance before I consider venturing anywhere else.

Here’s a video of my cycle trip with my dogs, Louis and Emmie. Enjoy it below or at http://youtu.be/XOpVLxwREmQ
While travelling, I received wonderful news that I had won the Vichy spa water video contest! Many thanks to Vichy Singapore, Pearlin, Eunice, Regina, Andrew and Steven for making it possible. I had lots of fun filming it in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia cause everyone was super co-operative and excited about it! If you haven’t seen the video yet, you can view it below, on Vichy Singapore Facebook page or on youtube at http://youtu.be/ZhUQN8bXNYs
