I’ve never thought much about snails except that they are slimy and gross. They tend to come out after the rain and I hate to accidentally step on them cause the crack and the sinking feeling that I might have just killed one under my shoes gives me goosebumps. In fact, I silently curse the little snails for being so stupid and walking in the middle of the pathway at night where the chances of them being squashed is rather high. Shouldn’t they just stay in the grass! But after watching some snails in KL… my opinion of them changed.

This group of snails were lurking next to the man made pond… unable to reach the water plants. And then slowly and amazingly… they developed a way to reach the plants! One snail hung on for dear life to the side of the pond allowing the other snail to cling on to it so that it can stretch and reach out to munch on those juicy green leaves! It patiently waited till its’ friend had his fill before moving out of position and preparing for his turn to feed.

Snails aside, I had yummy ice dessert with An Drew. He brought us to this newly opened desert stall that served flavored snow!

It’s not just ice covered with syrup… the ice itself had milk and flavoring infused in it before being finely shredded into a snow-like texture!

The trip home to Singapore was wet and stormy… I’m really glad I wasn’t the one driving!

I wore a comfy jeans and a long sleeved top for the journey.

The real reason I went up to Ipoh is to attend a friend’s wedding. It’s an Indian wedding so I brought along my colorful dress just for the occasion!

Just like the Indian weddings I’ve attended previously… this one was abound with colors! The dinner and ceremony was held at this gorgeous colonial city hall just opposite the picturesque Ipoh Railway station.

I absolutely adore the high ceilings and those chandeliers. I could almost imagine being transported back to the 1800s.

I sincerely wish Jiven and Sumithra all the best for their loving lives ahead. They make such a delightful couple!

Lastly, shots of my outfit. I do love the color combination of this piece.

Went down all the way to Sunway just to get these J.Co donuts before heading up to Ipoh!

There were many beautiful greenery along the way and I would love to be able to take nicer and better shots but the fast driving and crowded highway that day kinda prevented that.

Lunch was Ipohs’ Sun Seng Fatt. The curry noodles is fantastic! I love love love the dry ones. I think I could have that 3 times a day! The Lam Noodles was not bad but not as good as the dry curry noodles. Looking at the pictures really makes me wanna go back there just to have those noodles. They are so popular that the store closes after lunchtime… around 2pm.

Finally, my outfit of the day pictures.

I love Korean BBQ! My favorite place was at the top floor Hereen except it’s now no longer there. Boo-hoo!

The slices of beef… pan fried to perfection above glowing charcoal… laid on top a crisp lettuce and Korean sauce is just so delicious! So AC ( my personal tour guide in KL) took the family to have Korean Lunch. Daddy treated us to such a splendid meal!

It was so good we cleaned out every plate on the table!

They were so sweet to give us a free pancake dessert and a special Korean present for our patronage.

I was so busy catching up with family and friends that I forgot to take a What I Am Wearing Today picture. The best shot I have is the one below where I was really excited to find a huge tennis ball in the house… It’s even bigger then my face!

As promised, here are the pictures of my hike at Kanching Falls. Kanching Falls is located between KL and Rawang.

The waterfalls consist of seven tiers and we kinda discovered this place by accident. We had intended to go hiking at Templar’s Park but a wrong turning brought us new adventures and a gorgeous waterfall. Had a little dip in the river but it was too dangerous for my digital camera to capture any shots.

I frequent our neighboring country, Malaysia quite a bit. I’m not so much the weekend JB sort of visitor but tend to go further up towards KL - Ipoh - Penang. Friends always assume that I must do a lot of shopping there especially since our currency is so much stronger which equates to greater purchasing power. They can’t possibly be further from the truth.

In fact, I don’t buy anything at all.

I spend all my money filling my tummy!

The food there is fabulously yummy with unhealthy proportions of lard which somehow makes the food so much more enticing and tasty. Portions are generous and desserts are always filled to the brim with quality ingredients.

I have many KL friends to thank for bringing me around to all the most delicious local joints that foreigners never hear off… and to AC for being my entertainer… driver and tour guide whenever I’m there. I promise to do the same for you when you come to Singapore.

Here are some foodie pics from Sunway and Ipoh as well.

Secondary to eating, I do sports there… badminton… table tennis… archery… bowling… hiking. I can’t get enough! And it’s so much cheaper to do it over there then back home in Singapore.

I’ll share more pictures of my hike soon!

To be really honest. I’ve always liked toga tops and absolutely admire those girls that carry them off so well and stylishly. But I rarely buy or wear them. I just feel they look odd on me. Maybe it’s my petite size… or my lack of height… it almost makes me feel I’m Jane’s little sister ( from the Tarzan cartoons).

So when I found this top I was keen to try it out. It’s almost a toga but there’s a tiny little spaghetti strap on one side to give a little more support.
