We all made plans to chill out after the wedding dinner. So the guys recommended that we check out this place called the Lookout Point. A couple of restaurants that were on top of a hill overlooking the KL city.
It so happens that pass midnight, it was Celynn’s birthday! So I suggested we get a cake to celebrate her birthday there! It was a chocolate ice-cream cake that we finally decided on.
The birthday song was played and we all sang Happy Birthday to Celynn as the waiters brought her cake to her encased in a plastic cylinder.
Other than cake and drinks, there were plenty of laughter and nonsense chatters. With these guys there is never a dull moment!
I loved the ambiance and scenery of the KL city and I hope Celynn had a great birthday celebration with us too!
As promised, here’s the photo of the beautiful bride in royal blue! I love her evening gown!
Wei Siang’s and Pui Yee’s blue and green themed wedding was absolutely lovely. It was held at the Nikko Hotel in KL and everyone was dressed to the nines! The floral arrangements and wedding concept was very elegant and if I remember correctly, it was done up by the groom’s sibling.
There were plenty of tiffany blue trees with glitter hearts around. You could write your wishes and blessings for the couple on heart shaped blue paper and hang it on the trees. What a cute idea!
With everyone so busy these days, it was quite an experience to see so many people had taken time off to fly in for the wedding. I also got to meet Seok Ming’s fiancé for the first time.
We did exactly what the place cards instructed us to do…. eat, drink and get married. Well… at least watch Pui Yee and Wei Siang get married. Everyone also took the opportunity to take lots of photos since it’s not everyday you get everyone in one location!
I wore a simple black short dress with crystal embellishments.
I’m gonna blog about another friend’s wedding! Wei Siang and Pui Yee! But this one was held in KL!
The night before both the bride and the groom threw parties at their respective homes for close friends and family. We we closer to the bride so these pictures were all taken at the bride’s home.
There were lots of food and lots of fun! But I won’t be showing you photos of the gorgeous bride till the next post!
PS -I’m out of Singapore again but there will be new posts while I’m gone. Just expect replies and emails to be slower yah?
The next few posts are gonna cover my Chinese New Year. Yes I know… time flies right? We headed back to Ipoh just for the reunion dinner and it was also the last time we saw our Ipoh granny alive.
Traffic was soooo soooo bad that Aikee totally lost his cool! I entertained myself with my iphone and my Jeffery Deaver novel… feeling very blessed that I didn’t have to be the one that’s driving in this traffic conditions.
We left KL at lunch and due to the jam, we only reached Ipoh after sunset.
100 year old granny was still going strong then… 100 sounds like a really long time to live but it really isn’t considering how time flies by. But I’m glad that she’s constantly surrounded by family and lots of love.
Home cooked reunion dinner is the best! I rather home cooked anytime rather than get jostled around in a restaurant on CNY eve. Plus the effort and togetherness makes everything so much more meaningful when I look back on these photos. I loved the giant chicken rice balls! I swear I couldn’t stop eating even though I was soooooo stuffed!
After dinner, we started fooling around with my camera. Taking silly shots, making light drawings and even running shots. So fun!
It was a fabulous Chinese New Year Eve! There were lots of fireworks privately put up as well! Too bad we didn’t manage to capture any on film.
Tried the Marybrown@KLIA while waiting to catch the flight back to Singapore because it is a fast food chain that is not available in Singapore.
Ordered the Nasi Lemak set with a drink and additional 2 pieces of chicken.
My conclusion! I don’t like Marybrown. The food is so-so, chicken pieces are pretty small and the food doesn’t feel fresh. Give me KFC anytime… this will probably be my first and last stop at Marybrown.
Papa Rich Cafe is a Malaysia franchise that can be seen at almost every nook and corner of KL! It’s similar and possibly the direct competitor of Old Town Cafe. So we all met up to give it a try!
We were all so obsessed with playing Andrew’s power gyroscope ball while waiting for our orders. You can read about it here.
It was really fun to see how fast we could spin it and how long we could keep the momentum. I really sux at it though.
Finally food and drinks arrived!!!
In general, I really like the food and drinks. Much better than old town cafe. Of course it could never have that unique taste of some hawker’s best kept secrets when it comes to local delicacy but fairs pretty good for a franchise.
Darmi made really yummy Na Choy Gai or Beansprout Chicken. An Ipoh delicacy.
Her version is much healthier then the outside one but just as yummy. I always liked bean sprouts! And instead of rice, we had it with kuay teow noddle soup!
We had so much fun playing board games the day before that we decided to stay in and invite friends over to play more games instead of heading out!
My personal favorite game is called Gift Trap!!!
GiftTRAP was voted “Best Party Game of the year 2008” by GAMES magazine and I totally agree. It’s such a simple idea but loads of fun with lots of re-playability value because the game relies on your personal knowledge of your opponents.
You always think you know a lot about your family, friends or love ones but this game exposes their innermost thoughts and allows you to know them better.
My set of tokens were the pretty pink ones!
Later that day we also played ” You Must Be An Idiot” which is pretty much a trivia quiz game with a twist. I like trivia from time to time (nerd alert!) but some of these US made games have way too much US specific trivia which makes me look ultra dumb!
We headed out for dinner and both Andrew and I brought our Canon DSLRs along to play… there were lots of silly shots that I won’t post up here.
This was the time way before Aikee was a budding photographer… playing with our cameras must have ignited the flame in him because he’s a pretty good photographer now!!!
I forgot the name of the restaurant we went to but they were supposed to be good for their claypot bee ta mak or rats tail noodles.
It was delicious!!! And I really liked the fried rice and the fried toufu! (I hate blogging about food when I’m hungry!)
Aikee, if you read this post and remember the place we went to, drop me a note in the comments yah?
Went out early for lunch and the harsh noon heat was enough to paralyze me! So we decided to stay indoors and around the house. Aikee played around in the garden with the baby fishes and all sorts of odd insects.
We spotted the kittens we rescued the last time we were in KL! ( You can click here to view my last post on them).
Except… the kitten (meowmee) was no longer a kitten but a full grown cat! How fast they grow. She can still sort of recognize me though!
We went out to get Aikee his board games so we could stay indoors with new entertainments! Our first pick was the Marvel Hero’s board game.
As you read this post, I’m probably already out of Singapore. I’ve already scheduled posts so you can still check back here everyday for new posts and content! As you can see, I’m trying really hard to keep up with my multitude of travel and photos! Email replies and comments will be slow but as usual I’ll try to get back to it.
Continuing from where I last dropped off, we climbed up till we found a secluded spot with a section of waterfall that we didn’t have to share with anyone else! The sound of the forest with the rushing sound of water was really calming. After the hike up, the water was so inviting, we couldn’t resist going in for a dip!
I really wished I had brought along my swimsuit so I could go for a splash in the water instead of wading around with my trek pants rolled up. There were some deep pot holes so I had to feel really carefully where to wade. I also pretty much avoided them by climbing all around the slippery rocks which was quite a risk since if I slipped I’ll be totally drenched!
We spent quite some time there resting, chatting, splashing, taking photos and trying out funny poses.
The water was cold but not freezing which was perfect for wading in on such a hot humid day. The water was also surprisingly really clear with just a few baby fishes here and there.
Everyone had a great day and I look forward to spending more time with Celynn and Andrew when we head to Bali later this year! Having long distance friends can be a little harder to maintain but they are such nice people and even though I don’t meet them as often, it always feels right!
We must have taken a dozen or more photos at the waterfall. But since I didn’t bring a tripod, I had to take more in case there were many blury shots. And I’m quite happy that a large portion of the photos were really nice even though we had no tripod and the camera shutter had to be opened longer than usual to capture the full effect of the cascading waters.
We even manage to do a really corny waving gif photo! Hehe!
I was incredibly reluctant to leave to cool comforts of the icy water but it was time to catch brunch and feed my poor tummy.
I slipped on a rock and almost fell when I was coming back down but I guess girls generally have a pretty good sense of balance and I shifted my center of gravity just in time to avoid the catastrophe.
One last parting shot of Andrew helping Celynn take her picture on his phone camera.
And if the pictures aren’t enough for you, here’s a short video as well.

I don't stay at B & B in London so I can't help you out there but for shopping you can go Oxford St, Bond St, Covent Gardens, Knightsbridge and Portobello Market. Of course Harrods is probably as iconic a shopping center as you would get in London:)
